Dr. Jessica Robin, NSF Program Manager for the Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE) program, will make a general presentation on NSF's PIRE competitive grants program. Afterward, Dr. Robin will entertain questions about the proposal submission and review process. If needed, she will be available for individual meetings following the 10 a.m. general session.

MENTORING UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH
A panel discussion on the recruitment of talented and motivated students; funding opportunities for undergraduate research and creative work; opportunities for the presentation of undergraduate research and creative work; and strategies for mentoring undergraduates. Faculty from a range of disciplines will make short presentations on these select topics with general discussion to follow.
Lunch will be provided.

The December 4 workshop will be held at Honolulu Community College. It will provide an overview of the National Science Foundation and focus on topics such as NSF programs of interest to community colleges and proposal preparation. In the attachments are an agenda of the day's activities and a registration form.
