PBS Kids - SciGirls

The new PBS Kids television series, SciGirls, features groups of middle school girls modeling authentic, girl-focused approaches to inquiry-based science and engineering projects. The SciGirls television series, website, and outreach initiatives emphasize current research on strategies, the SciGirls Seven, proven to increase girls’ engagement in STEM. Participants will leave with tips for implementation of these strategies and awareness of our FREE resources for girls ages 8-13, parents and educators.

Mission Statement: The National Coalition of Girls' Schools (NCGS) is a leading advocate for girls' education. Believing that girls' schools are the most powerful, transformative learning environments for girls, NCGS seeks to document the unique qualities that best define the girls' school experience. To this end, NCGS conducts research, promotes best practices, supports public outreach activities, and sponsors academic conferences with a focus on girls and learning. It serves its Member Schools as they prepare young women to be the visionaries and leaders who will make the world a better one for all.

Women In Technology Project

The Women In Technology (WIT) Project provides statewide resources and opportunities to strengthen the education to workforce pipeline in Hawaii by encouraging girls, women, and underrepresented minorities to enter into science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. WIT is administered by the Maui Economic Development Board, Inc., and is funded in part by the U.S. Departments of Education, Labor and Agriculture.
