Kalihi Waena Streambank Restoration

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP CLEAN KALIHI STREAM...And help create a Native Hawaiian Garden for community members to cultivate and harvest edible and medicinal plants!

In addition to removing trash from the stream, we'll be weeding invasive plants, planting native plants, creating a pathway and removing graffiti.

Please wear covered shoes, work clothes, and hat. We'll provide the refreshments!

Earth & Sky Teachers Center

Earth & Sky, the award-winning NPR program in collaboration with the Learning Tree Project, has created a place for teachers to gather information and  curriculum support relating to a wide variety of science topics. Materials include archived broadcasts in podcast and print format, science news headlines, curriculum modules, an index of topics, and opportunities for children to interact with scientists. 

International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI)

The International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) is a partnership among governments, international organizations, and non government organizations (NGOs). It strives to preserve coral reefs and related ecosystems by implementing Chapter 17 of Agenda 21, and other relevant international conventions and agreements. The secretariat of the Initiative is currently co-hosted by the governments of Mexico and the United States.
