The STEM Intercommunity Portal is built and maintained by educators, researchers, industry, and community members interested in promoting STEM and STEM education in Hawaii and around the world.
An excellent question! I'm glad you asked.
At their heart, SIP groups are a collection of users who have gathered to participate in a common area.
This group, Getting Started @ SIP Hawaii, is a group of users interested in learning more about how to utilize SIP Hawaii in their own day to day work.
Groups can be public or private. Right now, this group is public, so any registered user on SIP Hawaii can join and participate. The private groups are invite only.
Each group has it's own content associated with it--Group Pages. You are reading one of these pages right now. Think of them as sub-topics to the group. All group members can comment about the content of these pages.
