Research Experiences for Teachers - Mililani Middle School

O'ahu Geology Fieldtrip

Mililani Middle School Kupono Track does an annual Big Island Trip. However, logisically, we can only accomodate a little more than half of the students from the 8th graders. In efforts to provide a "similar" science experience for those students unable to attend the fieldtrip, we asked John Sinton on the UH Department of Geology and Geophysics if he would be willing be a guest speaker for the students remaining on O'ahu.

Educational Uses for Nintendo DS

It's interesting to see that gadgets like the Nintendo DS can be used in education using new applications and software which is compatible with these existing game consoles. This can bring out the educational usage of these machines which is highlighted in this post.

Wireless Technology in Classrooms using PDAs

Research Experience for Teachers (RET) is a collaborative effort between University of Hawaii College of Engineering & science teachers in schools across Hawaii to introduce wireless technology education into middle schools. As a part of this effort the teachers have been provided Palm Tungsten E2 PDAs to be used in their classrooms to introduce wireless technology concepts to the students.
