30 teams from Division B (grades 6-9) and Division C (grades 9-12) will compete. Registration for student participation is now closed. Winners will advance to the National Science Olympiad at Augusta, Georgia in May 2009.
The public is invited to attend the exhibits, selected tournament events, and the awards ceremony. Some events, such as Elevated Bridge, Egg-O-Naut, and Trajectory, are open to the public. Laboratory events are closed to the public for safety reasons. The competion will run from 8:30 a.m. to about 2:15 p.m. with the awards ceremony to follow shortly afterward.
Exhibitors will include science-related organizations such as the Pacific American Foundation, B.E.A.C.H., Hawaii Academy of Science and others. Exhibitors may still apply by contacting Carrie Harrington: charring@hawaii.edu
