We are looking for a talented Electrical Engineering student to work part time during the school year. The student will be provided an opportunity to gain engineering experience, working on professional level projects and hands-on challenges while earning a competitive salary. Fundamental Responsibilities

Student will be exposed to electrical design, project engineering, project management, standards development and general engineering duties in support of capital construction and customer projects for HECO and subsidiaries under the direction of higher-level professional engineers.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Preparing plans; layouts; design calculations; design and construction standards.
  • Material, equipment and construction specifications and related engineering design work in accordance with applicable codes, ordinances and regulations.
  • Conducts engineering studies, field inspections, prepares reports, prepares request for proposal for engineering services; and directs and checks design efforts by consultants.
  • Develops project schedules and project cost estimates.
