Patricia Ishihara's lesson plan utilizing the FabLab software to teach perimeter, area, surface area, volume, and the effects of scaling in the afore mentioned concepts and formulas.
Nohea Goo's lesson plan utilizing the FabLab software to teach surface area, volume, visualization and spatial reasoning, and nets.

Students in Jan Dumaran's 8th grade math class took measurements of a "green" portable on our campus. They then used the Fab Lab software to input the data that they collected and created scaled models of the building.
A geometry course to develop spatial visualization for incoming Kalakaua Middle School 7th graders. Students use TI-73 graphing calculators, cubes, building plans, Fablab software and a cutting tools. See individual lessons plan in share-ware section.

Here are some lesson template for designing draft models before using the FabLab software
A geometry course to develop spatial visualization for incoming KMS 7th graders. Students will construct, manipulate, and interpret three-dimensional models of geometric figures with rich hands-on problem situations and tools such as TI-73 graphing calculators, cubes, building plans, the FabLab ModelMaker Software and a cutting tool.

This geometry project is intended to develop fluency with measurement and visual/spatial sense for Washington Middle School 8th graders. Students use FabLab software, calculators, and cutting tools. Project gives students hands-on practice in solving surface area and volume problems of rectangular prisms, square pyramids, cylinders and cones.

In this two-phase structures project, students learn the importance and basics of digital design and construction. In the first phase, students are provided with the materials to hand-design and construct a paper building. In the second phase, after reflecting on design/construction challenges, students use FabLab ModelMaker software and digital construction tools to design and construct a larger paper building.
